FAQ
What does "semi-guided" mean?
It means your accommodation, transport, and must do experiences are pre-booked, so you don’t have to worry about planning the logistics — but there’s no full-time guide with you the whole way. You'll have a guide on your tour / activity days and you’ll have structure and support while still having the freedom to explore on your own or experiencing an extra activity on your free days.
Is transport included and flight details? Do I have to book my bus?
Yes, transport is included. You’ll receive either a Premier or Greyhound bus pass depending on your package. Once your trip is booked, we’ll book all your buses in for you — no need to worry about doing it yourself and will send you your trip itinerary with times etc. Just book your own flights to fly in any time on the 1st day and out any time on the last day!
Is it better to start in Byron Bay / down south or Cairns?
Both directions work, but we usually recommend starting south and travelling north towards Cairns. Cairns is a buzzing town to finish your trip and its warmer up north so you'll be chasing the sun! Most travellers travel from south to north, so you'll constantly be bumping into the same people going south to north, but its totally up to you!
Will I be travelling with the same group the whole time?
Not necessarily. Since this is a semi group tour, you’ll meet different people in hostels, on buses, and during activities. You'll be with a group on your tour / activity days. It’s a very social experience, and you will encounter the same people since everyone is doing a similar route
Can I customise the itinerary?
Yes, absolutely. We can adjust the route, number of nights in each place, and even add or remove activities based on your preferences, timeline and budget.
What type of accommodation is included?
Accommodation is in hostels, typically in shared dorm rooms. Private double / twin rooms or female-only dorm upgrades are usually available at an extra cost.
Can I book solo?
Yes, and many travellers do. The route is perfect for solo adventurers — safe, fun, and easy to meet others.
How much luggage can I bring?
One main bag or suitcase (up to 20kg) and a small day pack is the standard limit for most hostels and buses.
When should I book trip and any extra activities?
With the trip package, the sooner, the better — especially for high season (December to April). Things book out quickly during this time, and early bookings get the best availability and flexibility. For extra activities you can book them after you've booked your package, before your start date or on your trip, but best to book extra activities 3 weeks in advance to guarantee them booked in line with your itinerary.
Do I have to pay everything right away?
No. You can secure your spot with a $250 deposit, and pay the balance two months before your start date.

First of all thank you so much for your amazing service. Our Trip went very peacefully as per the planned itinerary I was scared as we changed everything last minute haha but we enjoyed our trip very well guys can’t wait to go next one.
